  Looks like MOL is on the acquisition path, fresh from the acquisition of friendster. I suppose this purchase will extend their reach and presence across Asia.

  City Square Mall launches Facebook game to promote Great Singapore Sale

  Local malls getting tech savvy with Facebook games for the June holidays to promote the Great Singapore Sale?

  Singapore, 2 June 2011 - City Square Mall, owned and managed by City Developments Limited (CDL), has launched “Elmo’s Garden”, a Sesame Street game on its Facebook page www.facebook.com/citysquaremall to tie in with the mall’s activities for the Great Singapore Sale promotions and June school holidays.  From now till 26 June, fans of City Square Mall can grow a virtual garden on Facebook, where the top 30 most “Liked” gardens with at least five flowers (inclusive of a sunflower) will win Sesame Street Kids T-shirts and eco-premiums.

  The theme for the game is based on the new Sesame Street Live Asia Show “Elmo’s Green Thumb” and seeks to promote greater awareness about Earth and the environment among City Square Mall’s Facebook fans.

  FERGIE GOES ‘BOOM BOOM POW’ IN PHILIPS LIGHT DRESS AT BILLBOARD AWARDS

  Billboard Music Awards, Las Vegas, USA – Six time Grammy Award winning singer Fergie raised the bar in fashion statements on Sunday 22^nd May at the Billboard Music Awards, sporting a dynamic luminous dress while performing with The Black Eyed Peas, designed by Philips Lighting in collaboration with Stylist B. Akerlund.

  The ‘little black dress’ was crafted using a figure-hugging fabric integrated with lighting to shape the singer’s curves and move with the music - giving the performance that the singer’s fans have come to expect. Showcasing a fusion of fashion, music, lighting and technology, the Philips design team worked alongside B. Akerlund, the industry’s leading Stylist/Costume Designer, to construct the dress.

  ‘Chopin for Japan’ sponsored by EPSON

  Epson, together with the Singapore subsidiaries of Yamaha and Isetan will be sponsoring a free concert entitled ‘Chopin for Japan’ in support of the relief effort for the recent Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster.

  Featuring well-known Italian-American classical pianist Julian Gargiulo, audience members can expect to enjoy Chopin compositions, well known Japanese songs and Italian arias.

  Satsuki Nagatome will accompany Gargiulo as a guest soprano during the concert.

  The concert is open to the public and non-obligatory donations will be requested during the event. All proceeds will to Mercy Relief to aid their relief efforts in Japan.

  There is currently a new spam campaign spreading across Facebook. The spam has an appearance similar to the following:

  

  It is worth mentioning that the app_id in the requests is “6628568379”, which may cause the post to look as though it was sent from an iPhone when this is not the case. This is done to give an appearance of further credibility to the scam.
