Since 'the geek shall inherit the earth', this geek is just waiting for his day to rule the world. In the meantime, he is a young Padawan for CNET Asia whilst toying with a myriad of fun stuff disguised as work and pretending to advise companies on tech business and new media strategies. His playmates range from startups, (un)Fortune 500s, to government organisations. Subscribe to Geekonomics by Email

Too bad this geek has to miss the Consumer Electronics Show this year due to national service commitments. This looks really interesting. My head is just beginning to get around how it’d change the way we use our PC. Wonder if I can play Starcraft 2 better with it? Alas, we’d have to wait till July to find out! More details in the announcement after the break.
Mouse 2.0 research becomes a reality with the new Microsoft Touch Mouse.

This looks like a nifty gadget that might make a lot of sense for certain lifestyles. Earlier on, this geek was playing with the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro and it packed a lot of features in a little device providing a pretty nice experience on Andriod. Looks like Sony Ericsson is going for smaller devices with more modular extensions like the LiveView. I haven’t played with one myself but you can find out more from the press release below.
Singapore, September 28th 2010 – Today sees the announcement of the Sony Ericsson LiveView™. Club Penguin arrived in Singapore this week. This geek has always heard about Club Penguin making millions of dollars getting kids to dress up Penguins but never understood the reason behind their wild success until now. While I’m working on a story on my CNET Blog now, you can read the full press release after the break.
This geek has never been much of a Halo fan myself, though I did try my hands at Halo 3. Here’s a press release from Microsoft last Friday on the latest addition to the series, Halo: Reach.

Ravana and TH15 of Team 1MS has done Singapore proud by winning the Dawn of War 2 Asian Finals organised by Replay Interactive, THQ, and Gigabyte at the 2010 Taipei Game Show!
Besides USD1.5k cash, they also win for themselves a Gigabyte M1305 laptop each complete with an additional dock that has a graphics card to add on to your graphics capabilities.
It was a nail-biting finish between Singapore and Taiwan as Team 1MS lost the first round to the Taiwanese boys due to various hiccups. More on their exciting finals here.
More photos from the tournament and the of 2010 Taipei Game Show can be found here.
Over the next couple of days, this geek will not only be bringing you coverage from the rest of the 2010 Taipei Game Show, but most important from the Intel Extreme Masters where Singapore will be represented by Team Titans.
So, this geek had absolutely no idea what to do when approached by Asia Pacific Breweries (APB)’s agency on hosting a party promoting savvy drinking. But they knew it was a cause close to my heart having seen my tweets and sure enough, I decided to host a party to promote this cause amongst my friends. To start off, I checked with some friends what date was best for them and then sent out a video invite along with my email invite:
Guests who signed up received this ‘e-ticket’:
(this ticket is Joe's, the dude who helped me take some pictures of the party)
This geek had many crazy ideas for my party, including Read more…
This geek’s disciple “GReekonomics” decided to throw a party to atone for his failure in learning his master’s true abilities:

A big sorry to all you reading this whom I couldn’t invite!
Woe to those who are coming though, for they have no idea what’s gonna befall them. Neither do I. Bwahahaha! Well, here’s a little hint for my 10-odd guests:
