This geek has been trying out QQ, the communication tool from Tencent that is even more ubiquitous than email in China, to keep in touch with some of my friends there. QQ was even installed as the standard operating desktop in the all-in-one PC that replaced my hotel room’s TV in Shen Zhen. Check out the recent splash screen:
This looks like a nifty gadget that might make a lot of sense for certain lifestyles. Earlier on, this geek was playing with the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro and it packed a lot of features in a little device providing a pretty nice experience on Andriod. Looks like Sony Ericsson is going for smaller devices with more modular extensions like the LiveView. I haven’t played with one myself but you can find out more from the press release below.

Enterprise, Mobile and Cloud Technologies Take the Stage; DEMO Hosts Fireside and Panel Conversations with Thought Leaders

For a geek who has not touched a Sony Ericsson phone in a long long while, I tried the Xperia X10 Mini with QWERTY and found the Andriod implementation pretty decent and the keyboard extremely good for such a small form factor. Has changed my mind about Sony Ericsson phones for sure. Have not tried the Vivaz but here’s an update for those of you who own one here in Asia Pacific.
