Since 'the geek shall inherit the earth', this geek is just waiting for his day to rule the world. In the meantime, he is a young Padawan for CNET Asia whilst toying with a myriad of fun stuff disguised as work and pretending to advise companies on tech business and new media strategies. His playmates range from startups, (un)Fortune 500s, to government organisations.

Earlier this year, this geek wrote about Cirrus general aviation which is not a trend here yet as opposed to the US. Here’s an update from Cirrus:

    Duluth, MN - May 13, 2010:
Cirrus Aircraft Shipments and Market Share Up Significantly in 1Q2010 Despite Continued Softness in the General Aviation Piston Marketplace

In contrast to the overall industry trends, Cirrus Aircraft grew both unit deliveries and market share on a year-over-year basis in the first quarter of 2010. Brent Wouters, President and CEO of Cirrus Aircraft noted, "We are obviously still working through a period of variable demand, even on a month-to-month basis. Yet these new numbers are the clearest signs that Cirrus is making sustained and measurable progress in spite of the inherent challenges in today’s market place.  The Cirrus delivery numbers also reflect greater long-term stability with less quarterly variation.  We attribute this to the significant value in our product and strength of our company - both very important to our customers."
