This geek saw the product demo for myself and was pretty impressed so I agreed to be listed as one of the talents/consultants on the site since it’s non-exclusive anyways. Not sure about the World’s 1st claim but they’ve already filed the patent it seems. Check out the worldwide release of Pepperconn’s “Social Media Groupware for Enterprises”:

- A major breakthrough in Enterprise Social Media Software with patent filed
- Groupware lowers entry barriers for SME owners and marketers to self-manage their own social media or digital campaigns (programs)
- Creates a new ecosystem of online talents and opportunities to monetize one’s talents
Singapore, 25 January 2010 – pepperconn LLP today launched the pepperconn Groupware, a collaborative software for enterprises to manage content and talents in social media programs where the goal is to engage customers, solicit feedback and generate marketing buzz on the internet. Such programs leverage on one or more social network (eg. Facebook and Twitter), the company’s blog and corporate website to aggregate user-generated content and grow its base of readers.
Typically, an agency will be appointed to manage such programs and to source for bloggers and talents – an option that is usually frustrating for both corporate clients and agencies due to a lack of real-time visibility, measurements of success, project management inefficiencies and it is costly for SMEs and marketers with tighter budgets
“It was from this frustration as a corporate marketer driving social media marketing campaigns at SingTel, Samsung and Nokia, that I took the plunge to set up pepperconn LLP to create the Groupware. Ironically, most social media programs today are managed in a laborious and inefficient fashion that lacks immediacy and transparency within the project team,” said Adrian Teo, Founder and CEO of pepperconn LLP.
“My goal is to create a complete one-stop solution that makes the job of a social media marketer more efficient in terms of work flows, content approvals and tracking. It should also be a collaborative platform that provides transparency among the project’s stakeholders and external Talents. In other words, making enterprise social media management – more social!”
What is unique about the pepperconn Groupware – it is the first to couple a full-featured social content management system with a talent management system and talent database. pepperconn Groupware has been filed for a patent with the Intellectual Property of Singapore (IPOS).
With the pepperconn Groupware, Enterprise users such as SME business owners, marketers, PR, brand managers, agencies and consultants will now be able to :
1. Create, manage and publish content to multiple websites or social networks
2. Track readership, responses and click-through-rates on each published content
3. Post jobs or search for the best Talents with proven track records
4. Appoint and manage Talents through job KPIs tracking, approvals and payment
5. Tap into a knowledge base of case studies, white papers and tips from other users
Registration for the beta version of the Groupware is now available to both Enterprise Users and Talents. Talents register for free, always. Enterprise users will need to pay a monthly subscription to use the Groupware; however, during this beta period, Enterprise monthly subscription fees will be waived until the full commercial version is launched.
For both the beta and full commercial versions, all Singapore-based charities will qualify for one free Enterprise Account.
The pepperconn Groupware is the perfect tool to enable charities to leverage off social media in raising awareness and funds. The Groupware efficiencies will also create a multiplier effect in content and public engagement activities among the charity’s supporters.
“Technology will always be a means to an end. Beyond just a technological innovation, we aim to nurture a whole new ecosystem of online talents and enterprises. It’s time to evolve the current pool of bloggers to the next level and provide a host of new opportunities to freelance talents, eg. stay home mums, students and those seeking part time work. And to do so virtually from anywhere,” said Adrian.
In addition to the current pool of Talents, pepperconn LLP has plans to grow a diverse and qualified pool of Talents. pepperconn LLP will be partnering with media training centres to provide intensive social media training courses coupled with the fundamentals of marketing, PR, campaign, client and project management for those who aspire to be Social Media Consultants or Talents.
The Groupware is currently only for Singapore based businesses; however, pepperconn LLP has plans to franchise it globally and are currently are in discussions with regional partners to explore this further.
