Microsoft delivers greater value this holiday with over 500 high-definition games, an incredible Comex Show 2009 offer and an exclusive Halo 3 ODST pre-order.

Singapore — 28 August, 2009 — Xbox 360 today invites you to experience more fun, more entertainment and more ways to connect with friends and family at an even better value. Beginning 10 September 2009, the recommended retail price of an Xbox 360 Elite console with a 120 GB hard drive will be reduced by 26 per cent in Singapore.

At just S$499 (estimated retail price, previously S$679), Xbox 360 Elite puts all your entertainment in one place – so you can play games, interact with friends, dress up and use your Avatar for social and game experiences, and soon, keep up with your Twitter and Facebook social circles. Additionally, as announced earlier this year, the Xbox 360 you buy today will work with code-named “Project Natal” and its controller-free gaming in the future.

“Xbox 360 has long been the console with the best value, offering amazing gameplay and entertainment,” said Erik Ford, Senior Regional Marketing Manager, Southeast-Asia, Xbox 360. “If you are looking for deep experiences that don’t require deep pockets, now is the time to purchase an Xbox 360.”

Unbeatable deals at the Comex Show 2009

At the Comex Show on 10 September 2009, gamers will have a chance to upgrade to a premium HD gaming experience with an unbeatable trade-in offer when purchasing the Xbox 360 Elite. At the Microsoft booth, consumers will be able to trade in any of their old console for a trade-in value of up to S$250[1] when they purchase the Xbox 360 Elite from participating retailers.

Also, at Comex only, each Xbox 360 Elite purchase comes with a free Gears of War Platinum Hits game (worth $39.90) and consumers are entitled to 20% off our original Xbox 360 wireless controller ($60.70 instead of $75.90).

This is a one-time only offer and only available while stocks last.

Announcing the “Halo 3 ODST” Pre-order

Are you ready for the next chapter in the blockbuster “Halo” franchise launching on 22 Sep 2009? Developed exclusively for Xbox 360 by acclaimed developer Bungie, “Halo 3: ODST” is a new game in the Halo saga that lets people experience events leading up to the epic story told in “Halo 3” through the eyes of an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), as they search for clues leading to the whereabouts of their scattered squad and the motivations behind the Covenant’s invasion of New Mombasa.

In addition to a brand new campaign, “Halo 3: ODST” introduces a new cooperative multiplayer mode called Firefight which allows “Halo” fans to experience co-operative gaming in a whole new way: they will be fighting as members of an ODST squad against waves of increasingly challenging enemies across a variety of battlefields.

“Halo 3: ODST” also includes a second standalone disc with three new “Halo 3” multiplayer maps, all original “Halo 3” maps, as well as the “Legendary,” “Heroic,” and “Mythic” Map packs for a total of 24 maps.

Purchasing “Halo 3: ODST” will ensure “Halo” fans get access to the “Halo: Reach” multiplayer beta when the beta goes live in the future. Announced at E3 2009, “Halo: Reach” is the prequel to the blockbuster “Halo” trilogy and is scheduled for release in fall of 2010.

From 1 Sep 2009, gamers who pre-order the game at an estimated retail price of $75.90 will get a free limited edition Halo 3 ODST console decal (worth $39.90) that transforms their Xbox 360 into a Halo collectible.

And only at the Comex Show, every pre-order will come with not just the console decal, but the exclusive Sergeant Johnson unlockable character card that lets you play as the grizzled hero in Firefight.

Offer is valid only while stocks last.

With all of these experiences available for the holidays and the future addition of “Project Natal,” which will work with every Xbox 360 currently sold, the Xbox 360 system provides more fun for less.

*[1] Consoles being traded in can be of any brand and any condition, but should come with basic accessories such as power and video cables. Trade-in value will depend on type and condition of console. Consoles cannot be exchanged for cash.

2 Xbox LIVE Gold Membership will be required for Twitter and Facebook when they are available,
