Since 'the geek shall inherit the earth', this geek is just waiting for his day to rule the world. In the meantime, he is a young Padawan for CNET Asia whilst toying with a myriad of fun stuff disguised as work and pretending to advise companies on tech business and new media strategies. His playmates range from startups, (un)Fortune 500s, to government organisations. And JUST in case you were wondering, this blog is NOT about to make this geek a politician like his Malaysian CNET counterpart.

It’s been a while since I’ve been so excited over a new phone. Even though the Blackberry Bold has been around for a while and I’ve kinda resisted getting it for months. I was simply blown away when I finally got it. It’s like falling in love all over again. Sorry, I did say I’m a geek right?

I installed a nice theme on the desktop with 13 icons, loving it!

Wow.. I really love the 13 application icons on the phone desktop. It is indeed a better phone then its earlier models.

If only I can purchase one soon.. Then there the world will be a happier place because there are 2 happy geeks! :)

Yeah the 13 icons theme rocks! Lemme know when you get yours, can add your PIN on my BB messenger!

Bro..I’ve had the bold for quite some time but I’m not sure if its only mine , it doesnt have mms and gprs capabilites. Any help is welcomed

Hey there, though I’m not a MMS user, it’s there together with the SMS app yeah? I just found it, it works? For GPS, you mean you can’t get the maps app to work?

  • Lisalicious Says:

oh nice, I am contemplating to either get blackberry or Nokia E71

  • barunah Says:

Nope, i can’t even surf the internet using gprs, only by wifi…is it only mine?

Lisalicious, i have been using the nokia e71 and simply loving it. sleek, sexy and full of punch. no problems with mms, or gprs or watsoever. i even use it for my 3 email accounts being updated and checked automatically every 30 mins everyday.

  • Tommy Chieng Says:

That’s look cool. I like the leather on the back.

    Yeaps it is!

  • Geekonomics Says:

@barunah - ah… looks like a configuration problem? Did you enable the data? Maybe you can call your operator support line for help there.

I think the E71 looks nice and cool and all. But there’s certain productivity aspects of the Blackberry which is still unmatched at the moment. Take for example how you can use the spacebar to replace the ‘.’ and the ‘@’

  • Queenie Says:

    Hi,

Can anyone advise, Nokia 5800, HTC Cruise & Blackberry which is the better recommended phone to use a business as well as personal. Is it very user friendly for Blackberry and HTC Cruise besides Nokia?

Thank you in advance whoever helping me to solve the above queries..

    Cheers!!
