  Based on Google search results, the Republicans might have won the elections

  Well, this was the top ten Google global searches of 2008 according to the Google zeitgeist.

  Too bad it was not the whole world that voted in the US elections. Then again, I’ve heard arguments that it SHOULD have been the whole world voting since the US Elections seems to affect everybody around the world. Anyways, let’s take a look at US search :

  Ah there, Obama the runaway winner. But wait, there’s more :

  So Obama was #1 on Google search but the republicans dominated Google News? What, is Google itself republican? :p

  So Sarah Palin was the most searched image? hahaha… figures.

  For those wondering about the methodology used :

  In compiling the 2008 Year-End Zeitgeist, our search team studied the aggregation of billions of search queries people typed in to the Google search box. Except where noted, all of these search terms are most popular for 2008. All of the search queries we studied are anonymous — no personal information was used.
